Wednesday Word-shops are our practitioner-based professional development workshops – each Word-shop is a chance to share ideas and activities with other educators in an informal, fun way. One Wednesday a month between 4 and 6 pm, we will discuss a current topic or trend in education. Each session will be kicked-off by a member of the Quarrybrook Education Team, then the majority of the evening will be devoted to teachers sharing and collaborating on activities for immediate use in the classroom.

  • There is one Word-shop each month from 4:00 – 6:00pm, with snacks provided.
  • Word-shops are open to any faculty, staff, and administrators from K-12 schools in MA and NH, as well as pre-service teachers, college faculty, and other education professionals.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring activities to share, questions to ask, and ideas to present – QB will always have some activities on hand as well!

For Spring 2018, we will be hosting 4 events at Quarrybrook on a variety of topics that our Education Staff will be putting together. For February, we will be changing our originally scheduled date to February 21st and will be investigating vermaculture, the practice of using worms to transform food waste into a nutrient-rich finished product called vermicompost.
